Each blanket isused in conjunction with a ballistic collar (supplied) which is placed on its edge around thesuspected explosive device. The blanket is then placed over the collar and suspect device. Thecollar directs the force of the blast upwards into the blanket which contains most of thefragments created by the explosion. Often, Bomb technicians can’t understand internal circuit of bomb mechanism of a suit Case or closed bomb even after carrying out X-Ray of suspected devices. He may not be in a position to determine the intricate bomb mechanism. Thermal cutter enables the BDDS team to make a series of holes in size 5”X5”X5” on various part of the closed device without endangering their life. The thermal cutters consist of three steel plates which can be heated with electricity.
